Winter is coming

Winter is coming faster than we expect. We need to pay more attention to our immune systems especially in the winter time as cold and flu season fast approaches. Runny nose, head and body aches, fever etc... Colds prevail each winter which means we become stuck in bed shaking, full body aches with coughing fits. Even though colds tend to only last a few days, with fast reflexes and preventative measures it won't last as long.

Here are a few tips to help soothe and prevent colds

  1. Start your day with fruits that are rich in vitamin C.

  2. Make your own natural syrups; be it garlic or leek, both are great for fighting colds. Boil a large pot of water, incorporate both vegetables and add some honey. One large spoonful twice a day will suffice.

  3. Make your own teas; In a large pot of water infuse lemons, fresh ginger, thyme and cloves. Let sit for 30 minutes.

  4. Finally, nothing better than a nice hot bath with eucalyptus and epsom salts.
